KARACHI: Sindh's minister for local government said Tuesday night the province's chief minister would not step down despite calls from the ruling party after the latter's name was placed on the Exit Control List (ECL) in view of a report by the Supreme Court's joint investigation team (JIT) pertaining to a money laundering case.

Speaking in Geo News' programme Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath, Saeed Ghani, the local government minister associated with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), challenged Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry to "go ahead and choose the 'or' option" as CM Syed Murad Ali Shah "will not be resigning".
Ghani added that not a single member of the PPP was in contact with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and that the ruling party's own government was structured on a weak foundation. With just a little effort, it can easily be demolished, he added.
