ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Imran Khan and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani spoke on the telephone on Thursday discussing bilateral relations between the two countries.
The two leaders discussed the visit of US Special Representative for Afghanistan reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad along with the Afghan reconciliation process and security issues at the border.
According to sources, Prime Minister Khan told Ghani that peace in Afghanistan was in the interest of Pakistan. The prime minister further said that Pakistan believed in sincere efforts pertaining to a negotiated settlement of the Afghan conflict through an inclusive peace process.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also accepted Ashraf Ghani’s invitation to visit Afghanistan.
