Pakistani-American chef Fatima Ali died of bone cancer on Friday.
The 29-year-old, known for her appearance on Season 15 of US television series Top Chef, passed away after a long-fought battle with Ewing’s sarcoma, a terminal cancer of the bone and soft tissue.
Tributes poured in for the chef, who was named Viewer's Favourite on the hit Bravo series show.
Bravo’s Top Chef released a statement on Friday via Twitter: We are deeply saddened to hear the news that Fatima Ali lost her courageous battle with cancer. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time. People not only fell in love with her cooking, but fell in love with her personality and heart.

Chef Bruce Kalman, her close friend and fellow Top Chef contestant, broke the news of Fatima's death on Instagram. "It's with a heavy heart we say goodbye to Fatima Ali today, as she has lost her battle with cancer. I will miss you Fati, and you will be in my heart forever. I'll always remember the great times we had, especially our interview during the tailgating episode discussing football, stadiums, and Taylor Swift," he wrote.

Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi had formed a close bond with Fatima since working together two years ago shared a series of pictures and said, "Goodbye lil' sis. One of our brightest stars has fallen from the sky. I have no words, but here are some of hers: 'I dream of being better. I dream of being myself again, but I know I'll never quite be the same, and that's okay. I look forward to meeting that woman one day'."

Ellen DeGeneres, whose show Fatima appeared on last year, shared a picture and wrote, "I was lucky to share this visit with Chef Fati. I wish I could have shared more. Sending so much love to her family. I hope they find comfort in knowing how much light she brought to the world."

Top Chef alum Chef Chris shared a video of Fatima, and wrote, "I will miss you Fatima. Thank you for all the laughter, showing me some delicious food, but most of all your friendship. I know you're somewhere singing with the angels. Love you."
