TURBAT: Paramilitary forces in Balochistan claim they have killed 13 terrorists, including a militant commander involved in the murder of 20 labourers in Turbat last week.
A spokesman for the Frontier Corps (FC) paramilitary force said Hayatullah, the commander of banned militant group Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), was killed when security forces carried out a search operation in Gabun area of Turbat district on Monday.
The spokesman claimed that the BLF militant was involved in the brutal murder of the 20 workers in Turbat.
He said that another militant commander, Zareef, was injured and arrested by security personnel. A large number of weapons and ammunition, including rocket launchers, were recovered in the raid, he added.
On Saturday, terrorists had killed 20 workers and injured three others when they opened indiscriminate fire at the labourers who were asleep in a camp set up at the site of the under-construction bridge at Sohrab Dam in Gagdan area of Turbat.
A police case was registered the next day against Allah Nazar Baloch, the chief of the Baloch Liberation Front (BLF), and his accomplices.
A statement issued today by Inspector-General of the FC force in Balochistan, Maj-Gen Sher Afghan, said that security forces will not rest until all those are caught who spread terror by killing innocent citizens.
He said that security personnel were willing to sacrifice all to restore peace in restive Balochistan province.
