Pakistan is still a polio-endemic country in the region. Sadly, it is one of the three remaining polio-endemic countries in the world, along with Afghanistan and Nigeria.

The polio workers in Pakistan, despite all odds, continue to put their efforts and dedication in ending the disease from the country. Security threat, people's reluctance, or challenging mobility – nothing has stopped our unsung heroes.

Recently, a viral video has come across where it can be seen that a brave polio worker is seen walking through inches of snow towards his destination with a box on one of his arm.

The walk is difficult for him – but it's his courage and commitment for his profession which is perhaps taking him forward.

A number of polio workers have been assassinated, female workers have reportedly been subjected to harassment – but the fight goes on, and rightly so.

The entire nation is indebted to their services. May the heroes are always remembered and recognised.

Meanwhile, the UNICEF Pakistan, in a tweet, also appreciated the long-distance travel of polio workers. In a tweet post, the UNICEF shared a picture of  polio worker, who can be seen walking through snow in an attempt to save the future of the nation from poliovirus.
