Rain, thunderstorm expected countrywide

KARACHI: Widespread rain, thunderstorms are expected in most parts of the country on Wednesday and Thursday.

Rain with thunderstorm is predicted in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan divisions), Upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad divisions), Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir over the next 12 to 24 hours.

Scattered rain is also expected in Bannu, D.I. Khan, Multan, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, and in Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Makran, Naseerabad, Sibbi divisions).

Karachi, after witnessing winter’s first rain last week, is expected to receive some more rain over the next two days, along with other parts of Sindh (Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Hyderabad).

Snowfall over the hills is expected in Malakand division (Swat, Chitral, Kalam, Malam Jabba and Upper Dir), Hazara division, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Today’s lowest temperatures were recorded in Skardu -19°C, Astore -16°C, Bagrote, Kalam, Gupis -12°C, Hunza -06°C, Parachinar -05°C, Dir, Malam Jabba -04°C, Drosh, Rawalakot -03°C, Mirkhani, Kakul -02°C, Gilgit, Kamra, Chitral, Bunji -01°C.
