KARACHI: West Indies women beat Pakistan in Super Over in the second T20 international to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series on Friday.

After winning the toss and opting to bat at Karachi’s Southend Club, Pakistan women set a target of 133. Skipper Bismah Maroof top-scored with 31, Nida Dar and Aliya Riaz were not out at 25 and 23, respectively. Javeria Khan made 26.

Pakistan bowlers fought back to restrict the Windies to 132, taking the thrilling game to Super Over, where the tourists defeated the hosts easily.

Pakistan women suffered a 71-run defeat in the opening fixture yesterday. They were bowled out for 89 in reply to Windies' total of 160-2. Apart from skipper Bismah Maroof (38) and Javeria Khan (19), none of the other players in Pakistan team managed double figures.

Dottin carried the bat with an explosive 90 off 60 balls, while Nation hit a half century not out off 35 balls.

The Windies team arrived in Pakistan on Wednesday, marking the resumption of women's international cricket in the country.
