KARACHI: With the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League is now just a few days away, local talents picked for the league have set their eyes on the glory in the biggest event of Pakistan Cricket.

Among them, one is young Saad Ali, who feels that this time Lahore Qalandars will lift the PSL trophy.

Saad was picked as 21st player by Lahore Qalandars, earlier, and he is now excited to be a part of the team which gives him the opportunity to learn a lot from modern-day stalwart like AB de Villiers.

“I am thankful to Lahore Qalandars that they considered me good enough to be picked for the squad. I am excited to be part of the team and looking forward to giving my best in upcoming PSL edition,” Saad told geo.tv

“I will have my eyes on AB de Villiers, during next 30 days, I will try to learn everything from him. From the attitude of the field to performance on the field, I am looking up to him,” said the 25-year-old batsman from Karachi who scored 183 runs in 4 innings of National T20 in December with an average of 91.50

Saad, who toured England and Ireland with Pakistan Test squad last year but couldn’t get an opportunity to earn the national cap said that Pakistan Super League is a very good learning experience for all the youngsters.

“PSL is a very good learning experience. I was previously with QG, although didn’t play, being with top players taught me great work ethics,” he said.

Talking about Lahore Qalandars, the young batsman said that he would try his best to keep team owner Rana Fawad cheering during Qalandars matches.

He also expressed confidence that this time Lahore Qalandars will win the PSL title.

“I have the feeling that Qalandars will win. InshaAllah, LQ will lift the trophy on 17th March in Karachi,” he said.

“I try to give my best whenever I am in middle,” he aimed

Replying to a question, Saad Ali said that Qalandars’ player development program is a phenomenal program which can change a players life by bringing him out of oblivion to the limelight of his career.

“A program like PDP is very good for youngsters, the best thing about the program that it doesn’t end with mere trials at venues. The best players spotted in trials get the opportunity to get better by playing at another level. Salman Irshad is one example. Haris Rauf has also come forward from the same program,” Saad said while talking about Lahore Qalandars’ exemplary player development program.
