RIYADH: The Saudi cabinet on Wednesday authorised its ministers to sign agreements with Pakistan during Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Islamabad.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the cabinet authorised the Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources to complete discussions with Pakistan on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the two countries in the fields of developing renewable energy projects and studying investment opportunities, in the refining, petrochemical and mineral sectors.
Moreover, the cabinet authorised the head of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) to discuss and sign an MoU for cooperation in the field of archaeology and museums between the National Commission for Tourism and National Heritage of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Department of Archaeology and Museums of Pakistan.
The Saudi crown prince will arrive in Pakistan on February 16 for a two-day visit and is expected to stay at the Prime Minister House during his visit.
The crown prince will be welcomed by Prime Minister Imran Khan and his cabinet upon landing, from where he will be taken to the PM House.
According to diplomatic sources, a trade deal worth $14 billion would be signed between Pakistan and the Kingdom during the visit. The trade deal would be the biggest foreign investment in the country's history.

Moreover, some 123 Saudi Arabian Royal Guards arrived in Pakistan Tuesday night as preparations for the crown prince to the country were completed. The Royal Guards will be on duty for the security of Mohammed bin Salman during his visit.
The government has reserved some 300 Land Cruisers for the visiting Saudi delegation. A gym has also been set up in the Prime Minister House for the de facto leader of Saudi Arabia.
