DUBAI: Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has said he is looking forward to another great season with Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Quetta Gladiators as they seek their maiden title.
“I am looking forward to it [PSL]. It is an awesome tournament and it is going to be another exciting year for Quetta and hopefully we can have another good season,” Watson said while speaking to Geo.
When asked how PSL compares to other T20 tournaments, the former Australian captain said, PSL is up there with the other tournaments. “There is no doubt about the quality of players in PSL. Pakistan has some of the best spin bowlers and leggies.”
“PSL has got some world class batsman from Pakistan and abroad,” he added.
About his performance, the 37-year-old said he will try to follow and build upon his performance from last year. Watson hit a 90*(58) — his highest PSL score, last year.
Responding to a question about Sarfraz Ahmed as Gladiators captain, Watson said he [Sarfraz] has a great feel for the game and that he has done a great job for Pakistan.
The all-rounder further said he won’t be visiting Pakistan due to personal reasons. “Unfortunately I won’t be visiting Pakistan this time around as I have a couple of things lined up,” he added.
