DUBAI: We are halfway through the fourth edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) and it has already provided us with some great batting talent.

One such talent that has emerged is 25-year-old Umar Siddiq.

The son of former Test Umpire Siddiq Khan, Umar is representing Multan Sultans in PSL and has impressed with his batting in the tournament so far. 

So far, the youngster has scored 119 runs in three innings for Sultans at an average of 39.66, however, he is hungry for more.

“I won’t say that I’m satisfied with what I have done at this stage. This is just the beginning I want to continue doing this and finish among top performers of the league,” Umar told Geo.

Umar knows, PSL is the best chance for him to show his talent to the world as any performance at this forum can’t go unnoticed.

“I waited to have this chance for two years. Now I got the opportunity and luckily I’m in good form too,” he said. “One performance in PSL can change your life and I’m looking forward to give many of such performances here.” 

The opening batsman added PSL is a great opportunity to learn from international stars.

“You rub shoulders with them throughout of the league which allows you to learn a lot from them, from their experiences and work ethics, this is a great learning platform as well,” he said.
