IPOH: Pakistan lost the hard-fought final of the Sultan Azlan Shah hockey Cup after Australia won their sixth title through golden goal during the second extra time here on Sunday.
Both teams went 1-1 in the first half and then finished 2-2 in the allotted time before playing two extra halves of fifteen minutes each.
However, the first additional half proved goalless but in the second extra half Australia succeeded in scoring golden goal to win the Cup for the sixth time.
For Australia Christopher Ciriello made two goals, first in 11th and second in 83rd while Glenn Turner netted in 44th minute.
Scorers for Pakistan were Sohail Abbas (in 31st minute) and Rehan Butt (in 61st).
