ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Production and leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Q Ameer Muqam has tendered resignation from his post, however, President Asif Ali Zardari has advised the former on the phone to consult PML-Q, Geo News reported Sunday.
Ameer Muqam has sent his resignation to the PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari telephoned Ameer Muqam and advised him that instead of resigning he should have his reservations redressed by consulting his party.
It is pertinent to mention here that Ameer Muqam had, during the General Council meeting of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, demanded of his party to make public in one week’s time the power sharing deal struck with the government.
Upon this, Chadudhry Shujaat Hussain, Federal Minister Pervez Elahi and Mushahid Hussain attempted to sort out Ameer Muqam’s reservations but in vain.
According to sources, PML-Q has decided not to accept his resignation.
