PM expresses grief over students’ death in Bhakkar accident

Six students and a driver were killed on Saturday when their rickshaw collided with a passenger bus

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed profound grief over the deaths of six students and a rickshaw driver in a road accident in Punjab's Bhakkar district.

“Terrible loss of young lives in the accident in Bhakkar which killed six girls returning from school and their rickshaw driver. My prayers and condolences go to the families of the victims,” the premier tweeted.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar conveyed his heartfelt condolences to families of the deceased and said all the best medical facilities should be provided to the injured students. 

He added action will be taken against those who were responsible for the accident and sought a report from the administration about the accident.

The students and the driver were killed on Saturday when their rickshaw collided with a passenger bus in Bhakkar. The girls were on their way back after giving an exam when the tragedy happened. 

Two others were injured in the collision and were shifted to hospital in a critical condition.
