ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said on Tuesday that Pakistan is on a positive trajectory of becoming a state where the prerogative of the use of weapons rests with the state alone, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations.
The remarks by the army chief came during the 220th Corps Commanders’ Conference he presided over at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi.
General Bajwa said that Pakistan has achieved stability against terrorism and socio-economic development is taking preeminence in the country.
The forum expressed its resolve to support the government and all stakeholders in the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP), the ISPR said in a statement.
The geo-strategic environment and the ongoing situation along the eastern border was reviewed at the meeting, which expressed strong will, resolve and determination to defend the motherland against any misadventure of aggression.
The forum also reiterated resolve to continue its efforts for bringing enduring peace in the country while supporting all initiatives towards regional peace, the statement added.
