ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday said that it appears to him that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) will jointly contest the next election.
The prime minister was all praise for MQM-P members of the federal cabinet during his address with the ground breaking ceremony of Federal Urdu University Hyderabad.
He said when his cabinet was formed then it included two ministers from the MQM-P, Farogh Naseem and Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui.
"I did not know the two men as to what their background was and I was afraid that a gun might not be drawn out in the cabinet over a disagreement," Khan said jokingly.
"But I say this today that there is no one as refined as these two men," he said of MQM-P's Naseem and Siddiqui.
The prime minister further said he always thought that MQM's ideology was close to that of PTI.
"The actual problem was only of chaos, but it seems now PTI and MQM-P will jointly contest the next election," he said.
