RAWALPINDI: Awards of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat were conferred on Pakistan Army officers and soldiers on Friday at the corps investiture ceremony of the Rawalpindi Corps, the ISPR said.
According to an ISPR press statement, the ceremony was held with Commander Rawalpindi Corps, Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar, as the chief guest for the occasion.
Two officers and 24 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and soldiers including 21 martyrs (Shuhada) were awarded Tamgha-i-Basalat.
Next of kins of the martyrs received their awards posthumously.
63 officers were awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 85 officers were awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) for rendering meritorious services to the nation.
A large number of senior army officers and families of awardees attended the ceremony, said the ISPR.
