KARACHI: Pakistan’s fastest-emerging woman rally driver, Salma Marwat Khan, has added another feather to her cap this weekend when she won the inaugural Chakwal 4x4 challenge off-road rally.
Salma displayed perfect control on the steering as she raced her truck through the challenging terrain to complete the track in a mere 22:09.40 minutes to emerge the victor in the women’s category.
"Alhamdullilah got 1st position in 1st Lake District chakwal rally 2019," she wrote on her Twitter account.
On the other hand, Asma Raza Siddiqi finished second and was at least 01:32 minutes behind the winner. Anila Khan finished third.
This is the fourth off-road title for Salma, who has emerged on Pakistan’s motorsports scene recently and participated in eight different races. She has previously won the Hub Rally, Sawat Rally, and the Sarfranga Rally titles.
Speaking to Geo.tv following her win, Salma said she was excited to win another title. “It’s a great feeling to win titles," she said.
"I love motorsports and I aim to be the best in this sport,” she added.
