LAHORE: Punjab Opposition leader Hamza Shehbaz on Saturday alleged that the government and National Accountability Bureau have joined hands against him, Sharif family and his party.

Speaking in a press conference, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader said that the NAB officials instructed him to resolve issues with the government. "Why all out of a sudden the investigations related to assets beyond means cases have been paced up," he said. “Name me one civilized country where daughters are given notices.”

Hamza said that the government offered him relief from the cases in case he cooperates with them, adding that the director general of the NAB requested him to not raise objection over his suspicious degree.

“Shehzad told me we are not interested in arresting you. Fix your relations with the government,” he said. The PML-N leader requested the Supreme Court to take notice of the NAB actions.

He said that the entire system has frozen due to NAB actions as the investors are reluctant to come in the country as they are scared that the NAB will come after them.

The PML-N leader said that while the nation is hit by inflation, the premier is stuck on his personal enmity with the Sharif family.

“The Railway Minister has made fun of the institutions by saying that a deal has been struck,” he added.
