COAS installs Lt Gen Aamir Abbasi as colonel commandant of Frontier Force Regiment

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday installed Lieutenant General Aamir Abbasi as Colonel Commandant of Frontier Force Regiment, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The army chief visited Frontier Force Regimental Centre, Abbottabad today, the ISPR said in a statement.

Outgoing colonel commandant of the regiment Lieutenant General (retd) Ghayur Mahmood Awan and a large number of serving and retired officers and soldiers attended the ceremony.

General Bajwa appreciated the contributions and sacrifices of the Frontier Force Regiment for the defence of motherland during conventional, as well as in war against terrorism.

Earlier upon arrival, the army chief laid floral wreath on the martyrs' monument.
