RAWALPINDI: An Anti-Terrorist Special Court Monday declared former President Pervez Musharraf a proclaimed offender in Benazir Bhutto murder case and ordered publicizing it in the newspapers.
The Anti-Terrorist Special Court judge was hearing the arrested accused persons in Benazir Bhutto assassination case in the Adyala Jail here.
FIA officials presented the report relating to the un-serviced warrant of arrest of Pervez Musharraf, which stated that the British authorities have declined to comply with the warrant of arrest of Pervez Musharraf and have taken the stand that there was no agreement between the two countries for the handing over of the accused persons. FIA made a plea for starting the process of declaring Pervez Musharraf a proclaimed offender.
Later, FIA prosecutor Chaudhry Azhar told media that the court has also disposed off the contempt of court case against FIA, following the restoration of the investigation officer to whom once again the investigation has been assigned.
All Pakistan Muslim League spokesman Fawad Chaudhry reacting on his party leader being declared proclaimed offender, said that this aims at stalling Pervez Musharaf’s coming home, but this would not deter him in his determination.
