Politicians offer condolences to PPP leader Kaira over teen son's untimely death

KARACHI: Leaders of Pakistan's various political parties expressed their grief and sorrow over the untimely death of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira's son, Usama Qamar, who passed away earlier on Friday in a horrific car crash in Lalamusa. Some took to Twitter to extend their condolences.

In a statement issued by the party's media cell, PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed deep grief and sorrow over the tragic death of Osama Qamar Kaira, saying "he was shocked to hear the sad news adding that PPP leadership and workers share the deeply-felt grief of the Kaira family and friends".

"Heartbreaking! Praying for Qamar Zaman Kaira and his entire family. May Allah give them strength at this tragic time," Aseefa Bhutto Zardari wrote.

"Most tragic news of the death of Qamar Kaira’s youngest son in a traffic accident. Just when Kaira was addressing media in islamabad he got the news. No words adequate to beguile Kaira and the family from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. Deepest condolences, sincere prayers," Farhatullah Babar said.

"Its heartbreaking to learn that our Punjab President, Qamar Zaman Kaira's young son passed away in an accident. My thoughts and prayers are with the family especially the parents in this extremely painful time," Nafisa Shah noted.

"We are all devastated by this news. He was in the middle of a press con when he heard! It’s a terrible loss for any parent and family. May God give @QamarZamanPPP the strength and fortitude to bear this tragedy," Senator Sherry Rehman said.

Prime Minister Imran Khan "expressed heartfelt sympathy for the bereaved parents and prayed for fortitude to the family to bear the loss", according to Radio Pakistan.

"What a terrible tragedy for any parent to bear. May Allah give Kaira and his family the strength to bear this massive loss," Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari wrote.

"I’m deeply saddened by the news of Osama Kaira’s passing. May Allah grant him Jannah and give his family, especially his father, Qamar Zaman Kaira and his mother the strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss. Aameen," Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said.

"Absolutely heartbreaking and tragic, the death of my friend Qamar Zaman Kaira's son Usama. May his soul rest in peace and may Allah give the strength to the family to bear this tragic loss," President Dr Arif Alvi said.

"May Allah give qamar zaman kaira sahib the strength to bear the loss of his son. There can be no bigger loss a person can face. Our prayers are with him and his family," former finance minister Asad Umar stated.

"Very sad at Usama Kaira’s untimely death. May God grant him the highest rank in heaven. I share the grief of the bereaved Kaira family. May God give patience to Qamar Zaman Kaira, his wife, and other family members at this tragic time," Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said.

"Heard about the sad demise of Qamar Zaman Kaira’s son. Extremely tragic news. Heartbreaking. My deepest condolences with @QamarKairaPPP Sb. May Allah grant the family sabar to bear this huge loss," Water Resources Minister Faisal Vawda said.

"There's no bigger grief for any parent than to see their kid leave this world at a young age. My heart goes out to Qamar Zaman Qaira & his family. May Allah give them strength and courage in these testing times. Ameen," Jahangir Khan Tareen of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said.

"Extremely Saddened to hear about the tragic death of PPP's leader Qamar Zaman Qaira's young son. May ALLAH rest his soul in peace and give his family enough strength to cope with this huge loss. Ameen," Senator Faisal Javed Khan.

"Allah please give patience to our brother Qamar Zaman Kaira for losing his young son. Please accept my deepest condolences for your family's loss. We all are with you in this time of pain & test," member of the National Assembly (MNA) Shehryar Afridi said.

"Deeply saddened to know about the death of Qaira sahib’s son in a car accident. Our heartfelt condolences goes with Qaira sahib’s son and may God give them the strength to bear the loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace," Mohsin Dawar said.

"Extremely saddened to hear the tragic news of death of Kaira sb’s son. This is how unpredictable life is. My heart goes out to the family. May Allah SWT bless Usama with the highest abode in Jannah & May HE grant sabar to the family to bear the irreplaceable loss. Ameen," Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif wrote.

"Very sorry to hear tragic news of Qamar Zaman Kaira's son death in road accident. May Allah Bless his soul and Grant patience to the family Ameen," former interior minister and PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal said.

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa also expressed his heartfelt grief on the sad demise of Usama Qamar. "May Allah gives strength to bereaved parents and family to bear this irreparable loss," the army chief said.

"Saddened to have learnt about demise of Usama Qamar and his friend in an accident. May Allah give bereaved families the strength to bear this most painful and irreparable loss. All prayers. Amen," Pakistan Army Spokesperson and director-general of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor wrote.

"Deeply saddened to know about the untimely death of a young Pakistani, Usama s/o Qamar Zaman Kaira. I extend heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. May Allah give strength to family to bear the loss & grant the best place in paradise to the deceased," Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Dr Farooq Sattar said.
