Asma Aziz says facing threats from abusive husband, demands security

LAHORE: Asma Aziz, the woman who was tortured by her husband, said on Friday that her husband has been released on bail and giving her threats.

Asma Aziz said that she needs protection from her husband, adding that people like her husband should not be out of jail.

Spokesman Punjab government Shahbaz Gill took notice of the incident and advised Asma Aziz to submit application in a nearby police station.

A video had gone viral on social media of Asma in which she claimed that her husband Mian Faisal and his employees beat her with pipes, shaved her head, and threatened to strangle her when she refused to dance in front of them.

The woman's husband and house help were taken into custody after former minister of state for interior Shehryar Afridi ordered IGP Punjab to take action.

The husband of the tortured woman was released from the court on bail after brief detention.
