With Pakistan opening its World Cup campaign against West Indies at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham today, former and current cricketers have poured in with their advice for the men in green.
Former skipper Misbah-ul-Haq is determined that Pakistan will break their record of continuous losses. “The Pakistan team is under pressure for not winning and the Windies can use that to their advantage.”
Former Test cricketer Basit Ali has said that today’s encounter between Pakistan and West Indies will be a game of talent. “If Chris Gayle and Andre Russell play their natural game, they can be very dangerous,” Ali said.
“The team needs to make full use of the talent they have. If the team makes use of their talent, then no one can defeat them,” Ali added.
Umar Gul, on the other hand, has said, no team in the World Cup can be taken lightly. “The batsman have been playing well which is good for us.”
Batsman Ahmed Shehzad has said that everyone needs to support the national team.
While wicket-keeper batsman Adnan Malik has said that both Pakistan and West Indies are dangerous teams and that Pakistan needs to play in a confident manner.
