NOTTINGHAM: Once upon a time, Pakistan cricket team was known for its lethal bowling attack, but – as it seems – the team is struggling with its bowling. Pakistani bowlers have not been able to bowl out the opponents recently.

In last 25 ODIs Pakistan played, they managed to bowl out oppositions on only four occasions – only once against better opposition, South Africa. Other oppositions were Zimbabwe, Hong Kong and Bangladesh.

One reason behind Pakistan’s struggle with bowling, probably, is inexperienced players. Aamir’s struggle on wickets’ graph was another factor. While Aamir looks like to be back in rhythm, the question of experience remains there.

Another factor is Hasan Ali, who seems to have lost the rhythm and hasn’t been much impressed with ball in recent matches.

In 8 ODIs he has played in 2019, Hassan managed to take only 5 wickets at an average of 81.60

And, his inability to take wickets is a matter of concern for Pakistan’s dressing room.

However, the bowling coach Azhar Mahmood has expressed confidence in a 24-year old fast bowler who was once known as the best find for Pakistan Cricket team.

“It's true that Hassan’s graph is on the decline. But he’s a good bowler and has the ability to do good for us. Its just a matter of time. He has been taking wickets for us and I am sure he’ll bounce back,” Azhar told media.

Hassan usually comes to attack after the ball is a bit older, as a first or second change. And, stats show that his bowling performance is very much dependent on how the new ball bowlers perform in the start.

In last 21 games, he has got 11 such games were he came to bowl with opponents losing no wickets and in those games, Hasan’s average has shot up to 63.

Nevertheless, despite Hasan Ali’s not-so-good form and inexperience of bowling line, team management is still confident that the bowling line can deliver.

“I am sure these boys will do well, its just matter of time,” Azhar hoped.
