FAISALABAD: A minor girl working as domestic help here in the city's Nisar Colony was subjected to brutal working conditions, assaulted, and locked up, it emerged on Sunday.
According to police, the seven-year-old girl had bruises and burns on her face, ears, arms, legs, and other parts of the body. While a first information report (FIR) has been filed, the suspects managed to flee.
The minor girl explained that her father had died earlier and that her mother, who left her at this job, never returned afterwards.
Police identified the suspects as Rana Owais and his wife, Sonia, who kept the little girl locked up in a room and tortured her frequently. She escaped this weekend when she found a chance to do so and reached authorities.
Police said they have handed her over to the Child Protection Bureau, an officer of which filed the case.
