ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Monday rejected a plea for pre-arrest bail for Pakistan People's Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur in the fake bank accounts case.

An Islamabad High Court bench comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Moshin Akhtar Kayani was hearing Zardari and Talpur's plea seeking an extension in their interim bail in the fake bank accounts case.

Issuing its orders, the high court permitted National Accountability Bureau (NAB) authorities to carry out arrest of Asif Zardari and Faryal Talpur.

The two leaders now have the option of appealing the order in the Supreme Court.

The case relates to transactions of hundreds of millions of rupees to the two leaders' private companies allegedly through fake bank accounts.

Sources said a team of NAB officials had reached Parliament House to inform the National Assembly Speaker of Asif Ali Zardari's arrest warrants.

Sources told Geo News that NAB has already formed a team to carry out the arrest of the PPP leader.

Informed sources told Geo News that the Bureau is likely to carry out the arrest of the two PPP leaders today.
