ISLAMABAD: Regarding his arrest by the National Accountability Bureau, former president and Pakistan People’s Party leader Asif Ali Zardari said on Tuesday that Prime Minister Imran Khan knows nothing and everything is the interior minister’s doing.
Zardari was informally speaking to media personnel outside the accountability court, where he said that his arrest is a part of pressure tactics.
The former president said that arresting politicians is ‘the beauty of politics’ in third world countries, adding that former military ruler Pervez Musharraf wasn’t an elected ruler, hence, he is unwilling to face prison.
He said that in the PPP tenure, there was not a single political prisoner.
The former president said that in the near future he sees PM Imran Khan fleeing to London.
While responding to a journalist’s question that is there exists a similarity between his case and Nawaz Sharif’s ouster from the parliament, Zardari said that it doesn’t matter if it isn’t him, then it will be Bilawal Bhutto.
“Even if it isn’t Bilawal Bhutto, then it will be Aseefa Bhutto,” said Zardari.
