Blast kills 3, injures 5 in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: An explosion killed three people and injured five others on Sheikhupura road near cardiology hospital in the wee hours of Sunday.

According to the details, the intensity of the explosion was such that the building of a private bank, one house and three shops were destroyed while glasses of hospital were also smashed.

Initially, one person died and five people injured soon after the incident but later, rescue teams recovered two dead bodies from the wreckage.

According to the eyewitnesses, several people are still under the rubble.

Injured people have been taken to district headquarter hospital Guranwala where two people are in critical situation.

SP Saddar told Geo News that investigating has been kicked off to identify if the blast occurred was due to the explosives or gas leakage.
