Number of HIV-positive patients in Faisalabad hospital rises to 2,800

FAISALABAD: The number of HIV-positive-registered patients in Faisalabad Allied Hospital has risen to 2,800, sources at the medical facility said.

Faisalabad Allied Hospital, under the Punjab AIDS Control Programme, is catering to HIV positive patients and providing services such as free treatment and guidance on protection from AIDS.

Among the 2,800 HIV-positive-registered patients, a large number is of drug addicts. Further, apart from men, there are women and transgender folks as well, sources said.

The patients hail from multiple cities, including Faisalabad, Chiniot, Sahiwal, Jhang, and Nankana Sahib.
