RIYADH: The Imam-e-Kaaba on Friday strongly denounced the terrorist attack launched against the Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia.

Abdurrahman Al Sudais, officially the Imam of the Grand Mosque in Makkah and head of the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, said the attack left a limited number of people of various nationalities injured.

The Abha Airport attack "is a cowardly criminal act denied by all heaven religions", he said.

Al Sudais pointed out that this terrorist attack, launched by Iran-backed Houthi Militias, represents an explicit recognition and full responsibility of this cowardly terrorist attack against innocent civilians safeguarded by the international law.

Houthi recognition of committing this crime amounts to a war crime, he observed. He added that such terrorist acts indicate the corruption of perpetrators’ morals, bad intentions, and blatant aggression, together with debunking their heinous plans targeting safe civilians.

This terrorist attack violates all international laws and norms, Al Sudais noted.

The Imam-e-Kaaba said this terrorist attack was launched only by terrorists with no principles or morals and denied by all heaven religions. He added that these attacks would strengthen "our insistence and determination on safeguarding our country that represents the Qibla of all Muslims".
