ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Thursday that the Indian political leadership does not appear ready for dialogue on all outstanding issues with Pakistan.

Speaking in Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath, the foreign minister said that India Prime Minister Narendra Modi appeared reluctant at the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Meeting, adding that peace is pivotal for regional progress and reduction of poverty.

"However it takes two to tango," said Qureshi.

Separately, the foreign minister told journalists that the Indian leadership has not yet come out of the election mode. "Pakistan's position is known to the international community," he added.

Pakistan had offered talks on the resolution of all problems, including that of the disputed Kashmir region. In response, Indian PM Modi and his minister for external affairs in their letters responded with conditions attached on the proposal for peace talks with Pakistan.
