QUETTA: A woman on Sunday threw acid on another woman following an ordinary argument here at the city's Moti Ram Road, authorities said, adding that the suspect has been arrested.

According to police, the two "friends" worked at a local non-governmental organisation (NGO). Following an argument, one of the two women went to the other's house where she attacked her with acid.

The survivor of the acid attack, severely burnt, was immediately shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for medical attention.

Officers at the Gawalmandi police station said they have taken the woman who threw acid on her peer into custody and would conduct an investigation.
