Former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi remanded into NAB custody for 13 days

ISLAMABAD: The accountability court granted the National Accountability Bureau a 13-day remand of former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the LNG Terminal case on Friday.

The former prime minister and PML-N leader appeared before the court today, following his arrest from the federal capital.

The NAB arrested Shahid Khaqan Abbasi from the Toll Plaza on Thursday. According to the NAB arrest warrant, Abbasi is accused of commission of the offence of corruption and corrupt practices under section 9 (a) of National Accountability Ordinance, 1999.

NAB had summoned Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on July 18 in the LNG case.

Abbasi is facing the accusation of handing over a tender worth Rs220 billion to a company in which he was a shareholder himself. He is also named in the Exit Control List (ECL).
