ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to PM Shahzad Akbar said that if former chief minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif does not appear before the court then he will personally take the issue published in Daily Mail report to the court.
Akbar was addressing a press conference, where he said that the publication only published 'five percent of the case while 95 percent is left'.
The Special Assistant to PM said that he is certain that Shehbaz Sharif will not go to court and has not sent a notice to Mail on Sunday.
Akbar alleged that in money laundering worth billions, the British land was used and the journalist who covered the story is standing firm by it.
It recently emerged that renowned media law firm Carter Ruck has started formal legal action on behalf of Shehbaz Sharif against the British newspaper the Mail on Sunday and its journalist David Rose about a “politically motivated” article published on July 14, 2019.
UK newspaper the Mail on Sunday had published an investigative story alleging that Shehbaz Sharif, the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), had stolen funds from the UK's Department for International Development (DFID) meant as aid for earthquake victims in Pakistan.
