QUETTA: The young doctors’ strike all across the province of Balochistan including this capital city continues, while the situation has further worsened by the police baton-charge, tear gas shelling, while over hundred doctors put behind the bars in different police stations of the city went on a hunger strike.
The aggravated situation has provoked even the private hospitals’ doctors also to joint the striking government hospitals doctors, while the work in all private/government hospitals even in OPDs and in emergency departments have come to a standstill, but the senior doctors, professors and young doctors continued providing emergency services to the ailing humanity in a tent erected outside the locked emergency departments.
Balochistan Young Doctors Association President, Dr. Abdul Samad Panezai along with other arrested young doctors have started hunger strike in protests. Panezai told Geo News that yesterday Federal Minister, Hamayun Aziz Kurd had met them and heard their demands, but thus far no provincial minister or high officials contacted them. He said that their strike would continue until the acceptance of their demands.
He told that Balochistan young doctors’ general body meeting would be held today for finalizing a future line of action.
On the other hand, the patients in the city were facing severe difficulties due to doctors’ protest strikes.
