Deteriorating situation threatened regional peace, COAS said, as per ISPR, but noted that 'Kashmir Hour' sent a strong message to world

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa said Friday the deteriorating situation in the Indian occupied Kashmir was a threat to the regional peace, according to a statement issued by the military's media wing.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Gen Bajwa visited the headquarters at Gujranwala Corps on Friday.

The COAS was briefed about the operational preparedness at the headquarters at Gujranwala Corps, the ISPR added.

In his address, the Army chief said the solidarity shown by Pakistan and its people earlier today towards Kashmiris during the 'Kashmir Hour' sent a strong message to the global fraternity.

“Solidarity displayed by the nation with Kashmiri brethren during Kashmir Hour today is a strong message to the world," the COAS noted.

"Deteriorating situation in IOJ&K is threat to regional peace."
