Singer Justin Bieber says actor Ryan Gosling and fellow singer Avril Lavigne are his cousins, according to an image — generated through ancestry.com — that he posted on his social media.

"I also just found out that I’m related to both Ryan gosling and Avril Lavigne," an ecstatic Justin Bieber announced on his Instagram.

"This is the best day of my life," he proclaimed, before dropping in a bit of sarcasm, saying it seemed "super legit it’s on ancestry.com".

Ancestry.com helps a person find out their relationships to other people through their DNA and ancestors. And, while Bieber just posted this on his Instagram, the speculation has been doing rounds on the Internet for some years now.

Whether it was true or not, it definitely sent his fans — who proudly call themselves Beliebers — off.

"This is So bomb," said one, while another wrote: "Justin! You are also related to Celine Dion."

Some were just salty, as always. "Funny bc we all knew already," said yet another.

A fan also wrote: "I am surprised you aren't also related to Ryan Reynolds."

Through the diagram that Bieber posted, it turns out that he, Gosling, and Lavigne share a 400-year-old common family connection in one of earliest settlers of Canada's Quebec.
