Gujranwala family allegedly poisons daughter-in-law

GUJRANWALA: A family in the city's Tang Kalan allegedly poisoned and murdered their daughter-in-law, the deceased's father claimed Tuesday in a case filed with police.

According to the police, the deceased woman's father mentioned in the first information report (FIR) that his daughter — identified as Naila — was admitted in a critical condition in the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital. Before passing away, she had explained that her in-laws mixed the poison in water and made her drink it, he added.

The late woman's father named her husband, sister-in-law, and mother-in-law in the FIR, police said, adding that further investigation was underway.
