India beat Pakistan by 60 runs in U19 Asia Cup 2019 group match

Pakistan lost to India by 60 runs on Saturday in the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2019 Group A match at the Tyronne Fernando Stadium in Sri Lanka.

Pakistan's wicketkeeper-captain Rohail Nazir led from the front, scoring 117 in chase of India's 306-run target, but was unable to take the green shirts over the finishing line as they collapsed in the 47th over.

Batting at number three, Rohail Nazir took 108 balls to score his 117 runs with the help of 12 fours and three sixes to keep Pakistan in the run despite the fall of wickets from the other end.

Pakistan were dismissed in the 47th over for 245 runs, losing their second consecutive match in the tournament following an 85-run loss to Afghanistan on Thursday.

Number five bastman Mohammad Haris scored 43 off 53 balls with two fours and one six.

India's Atharva Ankolekar took three wickets for 53 runs while Vidyadhar Patel took two for 28.

Earlier, centuries by opener Arjun Azad (121 off 111 balls) and number three batsman Tilak Varma (110 off 119 balls) propelled India to their eventual 305-run total.

The Pakistani bowlers were led by Naseem Shah (3 for 52), while Mohammad Abbas Afridi took three wickets for 72.

Pakistan's next match is on September 9 against Kuwait U19.
