Sheikhupura couple allegedly attempt to rape young girl after drugging her

SHEIKHUPURA: A couple in the district's Ferozewala town allegedly drugged a young girl — a resident of the Ali Park neighbourhood — and attempted to rape her after coaxing her into accompanying them to their home, her father claimed in a first information report (FIR) registered on Wednesday.

According to the father, the girl left her madrassa at 11AM after her female teacher hit her. A man named Mukhtar and his wife found her outside, then coaxed and took her home where they drugged her and tried to rape her.

The survivor's father explained that when his daughter did not come home by the evening, he and his relatives started searching for her and found her staggering in the street alone.

He said when they asked her where she was, she narrated her traumatic experience from earlier in the day.

Sheikhupura police said they have arrested Mukhtar and that an investigation was underway.
