Sukkur man suspected of killing wife, daughter says deaths caused by mysterious illness

SUKKUR: A man who was suspected of killing his wife and daughter in the city's Saleh Pat locality told police on Wednesday that their deaths were caused by some mysterious illness.

Sukkur police said they had arrested the man on the suspicion of killing his wife and eight-year-old daughter after they recovered the two bodies and commenced an investigation in this regard.

According to the senior superintendent of police (SSP) of Sukkur, Irfan Samo, the bodies of the man's wife and daughter were recovered from their residence in Goth Wali Muhammad Shabani and sent to a hospital in Rohri for post-mortem.

Samo said they suspect that the man they have detained killed his wife and daughter by poisoning them, on the basis of which they brought him in for questioning. The man, during initial investigation, told police that his family died of some mysterious illness.
