SARGODHA: An anti-terrorism court on Thursday handed a collective jail sentence of 104 years to three rapists and ordered to pay Rs1-million fine for raping female students, making revenge porn videos, blackmailing the women, and extorting money from the survivors.

In a special anti-terrorism court in Sargodha, Judge Ateequr Rehman presided over a hearing wherein the crimes of Adnan Javed, Azhar Bilal, and Atif Raza were proven and they were awarded respective sentences of 44 years, 47 years, and 18 months in jail and fines worth Rs400,000, Rs400,000, and Rs150,000.

The sexual predators were shifted to the district jail consequent to their sentencing.

According to police, a first information report (FIR) had been filed at the Sajid Shaheed station on November 17, 2017, wherein Adnan Javed, Azhar Bilal, and Atif Raza were named as the suspects in a case involving sexual assault, making revenge porn videos, and blackmail.

Sargodha police said five students had recorded their statements at the time. The rapists were former students of the university the survivors studied at, they added, and they used to befriend women from the institute before raping them, filming the sexual assault, and blackmailing them for money.
