Shikarpur man strangles wife to death, bringing city's honour killings to four in a day

SHIKARPUR: A man strangled his wife to death, allegedly over honour, in Khanpur's Goth Drigpur neighbourhood on Thursday, bringing the city's honour killings to four in a day.

Shikarpur police said the suspect — identified as Waheed Jatoi — had fled after killing his wife by strangling her and was absconding as of reporting time.

The deceased was identified as Shama, police noted, adding that the body was shifted to a hospital after they were alerted to the homicide.

The murder brings the death toll of people, including three women, killed over honour in the past 24 hours in Khanpur to four, with police stating that the suspects in all cases were yet to be arrested.
