LAHORE: An accused made a run for it at a local court here on Tuesday after the judge rejected his bail and pandemonium descended on the courtroom.

The Lahore High Court (LHC) judge, Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar, was presiding over a hearing pertaining to the bail plea of the accused, Ghulam Muhammad Jafar, at the end of which he set aside the petition.

The decision to reject the plea caused chaos among the two parties in the courtroom, and, using the mayhem to his benefit, Jafar, the accused, tried to escape.

Unfortunately for him, however, police were able to apprehend shortly afterwards.

A case had earlier been registered in Shad Bagh police station against Jafar, based on which today's hearing was scheduled. Police, on the other hand, claimed that the accused's lawyers helped him try to make a run for it.
