20 regional players to be awarded central contract

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to award central contracts to twenty regional players, recommended by the each regional cricket association throughout country.

The contracts will be given for a period of six months - from October this year to March next year, a PCB spokesman said. The contracts will be awarded in three categories. There will be five players each in category A and C, while in category B there will be 10 players.

Players of category A will receive Rs20,000 each month, of B Rs15,000 and C Rs10,000. These contracts will be awarded under a performance based formula evaluating players' performance in domestic cricket events.
