Top NATO official meets COAS, lauds Pak Army's role in regional peace

RAWALPINDI: A top official of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO) on Thursday met with the Pakistan Army chief and lauded the military's role in regional peace, the military's media wing said in a statement.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the director-general of the NATO's International Military Staff (IMS), Lieutenant General Hans-Werner Wiermann, visited the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi where he met Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.

DGIMS Lt Gen Wiermann and COAS Gen Bajwa talked about matters of mutual interest, as well as regional security. 

The DGIMS lauded the Pakistan Army's key role in the peace and stability situation of South Asia, the ISPR noted.
