FAISALABAD: A minor boy who was kidnapped two days ago was found dead on Tuesday in a garbage dump in the Jaranwala town near the city, police sources said.

According to sources in the Faisalabad police, the eight-year-old had gone missing from outside his home in Jaranwala's Chak 215 Rb Kakuana area. A first information report (FIR) of kidnapping had been registered against unidentified persons in the Saddar police station.

However, earlier today, the body of the missing eight-year-old was found in a garbage dump at the Jaranwala Road.

Following the recovery of his body, the deceased's bereaved family protested on Jaranwala Road here in the city, burnt tyres, and blocked the traffic. They also demonstrated outside the Saddar police station.

Police have taken the body into their custody and moved it to Faisalabad's Allied Hospital for post-mortem.
