SIALKOT: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) on Friday arrested an alleged terrorist near Wazirabad Road and recovered explosive materials from him, a spokesperson for the Punjab Police's branch said.

The CTD spokesperson said the suspected terrorist — identified as Ziarat Gul — was planning to attack officers of the intelligence agencies and that they recovered improvised explosive devices (IED), donations receipts, and controversial literature promoting hatred were recovered from him.

Gul, the alleged terrorist, also confessed to having planned prior terror attacks by the banned outfit, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the spokesperson added.

The accused has been transferred to an undisclosed location for questioning after a first information report (FIR) was registered against him.
