ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party MNA Shah Mehmood Qureshi Friday said he was an elected public representative and not a school student who needs to take permission for everything, Geo News reported.
Talking to media men, Qureshi said if his party membership was cancelled due to his meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-N Chief Nawaz Sharif he would still have other options open such as (joining) PML-N and Tehreek-e-Insaf.
“I raise the flag of revolt against democratic dictatorship,” he said, adding the ‘back benchers’ of PPP were silent but not unaware and that they were waiting for an appropriate time to come.
To a question, he said without actually taking the name of President Asif Ali Zardari: “Had Mohtarma been alive, would ‘this man’ have occupied the position he is on?”
Shah Mehmood Qureshi indicated he would not himself go ahead and quit his party membership but wait for the party to take that decision.
